Industrial sectors have resulted in a large amount of pollution. Environmental degradation problem requires more indepth research on relationships between different sectors’ economic output and pollutant emissions. This paper analyzes the relationship between industrial economy and ecology. On the basis of it, the driving factors of industrial sectors’ pollution emissions are analyzed.

Transforming unitary habitats to multi-habitats in the Ladkrabang District of Bangkok Metropolitan Area

Urbanization in outer city areas leads to conversion of agricultural land and formation of new urban settlements among agricultural communities. This can create adverse impacts on agricultural ecosystem as well as the traditional unitary habitats. This paper reveals the outcomes of three decades of planning interventions in an outer district of Bangkok and the transformation of habitats. It shows that a unitary habitat can be transformed to a multi-habitat while creating symbiotic relationships between agricultural and non-agricultural functions through planning interventions. The paper defines the connotation of green logistics, explains the development of green logistics in developed countries, analyzes four big gaps of green logistics in China, and points out eight countermeasures and strategies for the development of green logistics based on Twelfth Five-Year Development Plan of Modern Logistics Industry in Shandong, namely, to set up the concept of green logistics operation, speed up the pace of logistics legal system construction, maximize the implementation of multimodal transport, strengthen the construction of green logistics infrastructure etc.

This study investigated a flux oriented control of Active Mass Damper (AMD) induction motor for buildings under seismic ground motion. Composed primarily of an induction motor, a mass bloc and a ball screw, the electric-type active mass damper (AMD) system is free from noise problems, oil leakage, and labor-intensive maintenance that commonly are associated with hydraulic AMD systems. In this study a five steel-frame structure is implemented with the electric type AMD system. GMV Control Algorithm for Structures under Recorded Strong Earthquakes including Soil Characteristics

The Generalized minimum variance (GMV) Control algorithm for structures under strong earthquakes is presented in this paper. The autoregressive moving average exogenous (ARMAX) model is derived so that the soil characteristics can be incorporated within the model and consequently in the control law. The structural response with and without introducing the soil parameters (SP) are compared. El Centro and Taft earthquakes are used to demonstrate the efficiency of the proposed control strategy.
