Sparse principal component analysis (SPCA) imposes extra constraints or penalty terms to the standard PCA to achieve sparsity. In this paper, we introduce an efficient algorithm for finding an effective sparse feature principal component (PC) of multiple physiological signals. The algorithm consists of two stages. An MILP model is used for a systematic procurement scheduling. However if there exists uncertainty in supply and demand, the solution obtained from the deterministic model may be suboptimal or even infeasible. Thus in this study, two alternative approaches are formulated to consider these uncertainties: reactive rescheduling, and Markov decision process (MDP) formulation based scheduling. To solve the MDP problem, algorithmic approximation strategies are studied and applied for reducing computation. The target process studied in this work produces 10,000 MT polysilicon per year and the number of chemical vapor deposition (CVD) reactors is 28.
